Today at the end of my shift a man and woman dropped off nearly 300lbs of food and personal items to donate. One of the managers didn’t seem too surprised, she told me this couple donates all the time. It’s just amazing to me how selfless people can be. So long as people like that couple keep making a difference there is hope for humanity after all.
I was in absolute awe at the way this company works and the amount of food they give to each customer. It’s amazing how this organization helps the community.
I learned about the classes I must take in order to be involved in Diaster Response! I had one on one time with Jim Bishop as he coached me.
I learned a lot about the history of the Red Cross and it’s significance over the years!
I really enjoyed learning about the American Red Cross disaster response process from someone who has experienced it first hand. He was very detailed and descriptive as he walked us through the day to day life when called upon by the American Red Cross. It has actually made me excited to one day to the same thing!
I was very excited to meet all of the most important people who work in the American Red Cross facility in Jacksonville every day. I was even given a private tour of the facility and shown all the storage areas and my tour guide described the process by which they respond to disasters from the facility.
